As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, Sungiven Foods is your top choice in Vancouver and B.C. for a variety of mooncakes — bringing you a sense of nostalgia and a feeling of “coming home”.
For this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, we at Sungiven Foods Canada want to bring you that feeling of returning home. By joining forces with a professional mooncake factory with more than 30 years of mooncake-making experience, we are excited to bring you our Huijia Mooncakes.
Our mooncakes, with 9 different offerings in this series, utilize the best ingredients to give a great texture to go with an unforgettable taste!
Back in 2015, we released our first Huijia Mooncakes to bring a sense of nostalgia of being back home. In 2016, we shared it across the world, including Australia, United States, and Germany.
In 2020, we started selling the Huijia Mooncake in all our Sungiven Foods Canadian stores.
Our hope is that these Mooncake bring back a taste of home and that you can bring these wonderful mooncakes back home to share with your family and friends during the Mid-Autumn festival.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Harvest Festival, is the second most important holiday in Chinese culture, behind Chinese New Years. The festival is referred to as “the moon festival“ because it is often celebrated when the moon is at its biggest and fullest.
The festival takes places on the 8th month and 15th day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. In 2022, the holiday is celebrated on September 10.
Most East Asian countries, such as Korea and Vietnam, which also follow a version of the Lunar Calendar, take part in the celebrations.
In Chinese Culture, the festival represents the union of family and peace.
Traditional mooncakes are main dessert selection during Mid-Autumn Festival in China, and around the world. The pastry is formed into a round shape, like the moon, to be a symbol of reunion and happiness.
